Women to make 15% of Haryana police force soon: CM Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced plans to increase the representation of women in the state police force from the current 10% to 15%. This initiative aims to encourage more women to join the police force.

Addressing the passing out parade of CRPF officers in Gurgaon, Saini highlighted the government’s commitment to strengthening security forces through technical upgrades, resource enhancement, and expanded training facilities. He also mentioned the establishment of a dedicated Sainik and Ardh-Sainik Welfare Department to support ex-servicemen and paramilitary personnel.

In support of families of Haryana soldiers who have sacrificed their lives, the government provides financial assistance of ₹1 crore and a government job to one family member. To date, 415 dependents have been offered employment under this scheme.

During the event, 39 trainee officers, including two women, graduated from the CRPF academy. Saini urged these new officers to perform their duties impartially and fearlessly, uphold the law and Constitution, protect citizens’ rights with sensitivity, and remain steadfast in truth, honesty, and dedication.

He commended the CRPF for its vital role in maintaining internal security and for adopting modern technologies and training methods to enhance professionalism and capability. The Chief Minister also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s historic decision to allow women in the Armed Forces, acknowledging the strength of nearly half the nation’s population.
