Gurgaon’s First Light and Sound Show Set to Debut in August

A New Cultural Landmark in Sector 29

Gurgaon is preparing to welcome its first-ever light and sound show at Leisure Valley Park in Sector 29, with plans for a debut by August. This immersive experience promises to transform the popular park into a vibrant cultural hub after sunset.

The 10- to 15-minute show will combine water, light, and sound to bring stories from mythology and fantasy to life. Themes under consideration include Guru Dronacharya, Hanuman, and elements from children’s fables, aiming to engage audiences of all ages.

Immersive Technology Meets Storytelling

Using advanced technology such as 3D projection mapping on a water screen, synchronized audio, laser visuals, and high-pressure fountain nozzles, the show will offer a multi-sensory narrative. Officials say the goal is to blend history, culture, and innovation into one dazzling display.

A GMDA official stated, “This will be the first project of its kind in the city,” adding that experts from the Indian Council of Historical Research and India Tourism Development Corporation are helping shape the final storyline.

Project Background and Impact

Originally scheduled for October last year, the Rs 8.3-crore project faced an eight-month delay due to structural seepage issues at the fountain site. Now nearing completion, it includes five years of operation and maintenance, and could inspire similar initiatives across the city.

With a seating capacity for around 100 people, the show is expected to attract families, history enthusiasts, and tourists. Located within the 25-acre Leisure Valley Park—already a favorite among joggers and walkers—the new attraction may soon redefine Sector 29 as a center for culture and entertainment.
